Pecos River Brass first came from my enthusiasm for model railroading and a love for the Santa Fe. I created a private railroad I could model called Pecos River Railroad. When I started my model train business, the name for my company evolved into Pecos River Brass, because I manufactured brass models. In 2000, when I decided I needed art back in my life, I started a 19 piece jazz band. Well it contained 15 brass instruments and a rhythm section Pecos River Brass seemed like a good name to stick with.
The model train business is closed, but the band continues. We play mainstream jazz, not that angry white noise some people imagine when they think about jazz, and we like all kinds of music, from jazz to rock, do-wop to disco, swing to latin, and have our own unique library of American music from the last 100 years.
Our goal is to enjoy the music and entertain.
